Shreveport Downtown Airport - About Us

Downtown AirportDowntown Municipal Airport is a general aviation/reliever airport located within five minutes of the Shreveport Downtown Business District. The airport is located along the Red River and is the original Shreveport commercial airport, dating back to 1931.

Today, the Downtown Airport offers two runways, with the primary runway, Runway 14/32, measuring 5,017 feet long by 150 feet wide. The Runway  is asphalt and was resurfaced in December 2000.  Runway 5/23 measures 3,200 feet long by 75 feet wide.

The Airport is considered a general aviation/reliever airport. Numerous  owners of small private planes house  their aircrafts at  the Downtown Airport. 

Southern University operates an Airframe and Power plant (A&P) School which provides certification for aircraft mechanics.

The Fixed Base Operators at Downtown Airport is Royal Air, Inc. at (318) 227-0091.

A self serve pump - 100LL is available at the Downtown Airport. This service is provided by Fuel N Fly.

The Downtown Airport now has a cafe' that serves a traditional breakfast and lunch, as well as steak and seafood with American fare. Greg's Runway Cafe' is operated by Greg Thatcher and you can call (318) 681-9931 for more information.
