These areas/neighborhoods are shown on the map above and include Agurs, Allendale, Cedar Grove, Highland/Stoner Hill, Ledbetter Heights, Queensborough (including adjacent Ingleside and Hollywood) and South of Cross Bayou. The development of the City's Brownfields inventory takes place as follows: Historical records such as Sanborn Fire Insurance maps and aerial pictures of properties in the targeted areas are reviewed to obtain previous land use information. Based on this information, sites that may be "environmentally challenged" are screened out. A field survey of the screened sites is then conducted to confirm their locations, as well as current and former land uses. The information collected from the historical records review and field surveys is used to determine if the sites are indeed eligible for Brownfields designation. CONTACT INFORMATION |
