February 1, 2010 - One Person in Critical Condition after Early Morning Motor Vehicle Accident

Female injured in single-car accident

At 3:23 a.m., Shreveport firefighters were dispatched to the corner of Linwood Avenue and Harrison Street in Cedar Grove community for a motor vehicle accident. When firefighters arrived on scene at 3:28 a.m., they found a single-car engulfed in flames and covered with heavy smoke.

Once fire crews extinguished the flames, they found a semi-conscious 32-year-old female trapped inside. She was treated on-scene for life threatening injuries and was immediately transported to LSUHSC where she is currently listed in critical condition.

The patient’s name is being withheld until proper notification to her family members has been made.

According to the on-scene report, it appears the compact car driven by the patient hit a parked 18-wheeler. The Shreveport Police Department is investigating to determine the exact cause of the accident.
