Shreveport Police detectives are working an early morning shooting that claimed the life of a local woman.
At approximately 3:11 a.m. this morning, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting at home in the 5700 block of Ellison St. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of 46 year old Etta Thomas in the residence there. Thomas was suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives and crime scene investigators were dispatched to the scene and immediately began their investigation. Based on witness statements and other evidence, detectives believe that Thomas and her boyfriend, 50 year old Conner Brown, were involved in a verbal argument, during which Brown produced a gun and shot Thomas. Brown, who lives at the residence on Ellison St. with the victim, was arrested by investigators and booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of second degree murder and several outstanding traffic warrants.
Anyone with any information regarding this case is urged to call Shreveport Police detectives at 318-673-6955 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373. -spd- View all SPD press releases at www.shreveportla.gov |
