Patrol officers arrest man for shooting gun

A local man has been arrested after a concerned citizen called police to report gunshots being fired in the air.

At approximately 6:00 p.m. on January 19, 2010, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to call from a concerned citizen relative to gunshots being fired in the 1700 block of George Washington Carver Ave. The caller advised dispatchers that a male suspect had driven by a home there on George Washington Carver Ave. and fired two shots into the air. Upon arrival, officers began their investigation and were able to identify the suspect and locate him at his residence in the 2300 block of Jamison St.

Officers booked the suspect, identified as 23 year old Cartrez Buris, into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of illegal use of a weapon.
