Shreveport Police investigating fatality crash

Shreveport Police crash investigators are investigating a fatality crash that occurred this evening in north Shreveport.

At approximately 5:27 p.m. on January 22, 2010, patrol officers drove up on a major crash at the intersection of Jones Mabry Rd. and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. Upon investigation, officers discovered that a 1998 Ford Explorer operated by 72 year old Denver Norris of Shreveport apparently was heading south bound on Jones Mabry Rd. making a left turn onto Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. when a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle operated west bound on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. by 27 year old Reggie Turner, also of Shreveport, struck the Explorer. Turner was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department where he was pronounced deceased. Norris was not injured.

Patrol officers issued Mr. Norris a citation for failure to yield, but the investigation is ongoing and investigators are working to determine if any other factors contributed to this crash.
