Shreveport Police investigating shooting

Shreveport Police detectives are still investigating a weekend shooting in west Shreveport that sent a local man to the hospital.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on January 23, 2009, patrol officers were dispatched out to the 300 block of W. 84^th St. relative to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, identified as 40 year old Richard Page of Princeton, Louisiana, suffering from at least two gunshot wounds to the abdomen. Page was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department with life threatening injuries. Page remains at LSUHSC and is reported to be in serious condition.

Detectives were immediately dispatched and have learned that the victim was apparently sitting in a vehicle in the 300 block of W. 84^th St. when a male suspect approached him and just moments later began shooting at him. The suspect, described as a dark complexioned black male in his early twenties, fled the scene of the crime on foot.
