FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Patrol officer nabs wanted man

A Shreveport Police patrol officer has arrested a man wanted by authorities for indecent behavior with a juvenile.

At approximately 11:35 a.m. on February 5, 2010, Cpl. Daniel Denby observed Jonathan Davis standing near the intersection of Fullerton St. and N. Hearne Ave. Cpl. Denby recognized Davis and immediately took him into custody without incident. Davis was taken to the Shreveport Police Complex and, after being interviewed by detectives, was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on the outstanding warrant charging him with one count of indecent behavior with juveniles. The warrant has no bond.

Investigators believe that just a few minutes before 8:00 a.m. on February 3, 2010, the 42 year old Davis approached a 16 year old female who was waiting for a bus in the 1600 block of Audrey Ln. and told her that he had been watching her and that he wanted her. He allegedly asked her if she wanted to have sex and then exposed himself to her. The victim was not injured.

Detectives are still working to determine if Davis, of the 3400 block of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. in Shreveport, was responsible for a similar incident that occurred less than an hour after he approached the victim on Audrey Ln. At 8:28 a.m. on February 3, 2010, police responded to E. Kings Hwy. near Preston Ave. where a 17 year old female reported to officers that a male suspect driving a red, older model 4 door sedan with paint peeling off of a rear quarter panel of the vehicle approached her as she was walking and asked her where she was going. The suspect then offered her a ride and told her she could help him. The victim fled the scene and called police. The victim was not injured.

Jonathan Davis is still being processed and his mug shot is not available at this time.

Anyone with any information regarding these cases is urged to call Shreveport Police detectives at 318-673-6955 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
